A walking tour in the historical centre of Perugia to discover the main “water ways” of the Etruscan and medieval town.
The Well and the Fountain is the summer itinerary proposed by EVUS (www.evus.it) guided by Antonella Bazzoli, independent researcher and tour guide in Umbria.
The meeting point is in Porta Sole (in front of the public library Augusta) at 4,30 p.m., on Saturday 22 July.
We will start by visiting the Etruscan Well, one of the most ancient and greatest hydraulic engineering monuments of Italy.
The walking tour will continue along the northern side of the Etruscan city wall to reach the main square of Perugia (former Etruscan/Roman Forum), where the sculpures and the relieves carved by Giovanni and Nicola Pisano for the Main Fountain, will show us some unusual and surprising aspects linked to the importance of water over the centuries…
